Working Principle of Saturated Steam Retort
Products loaded into baskets enter the retort, door closes through triple safety interlock. Door is mechanically locked throughout sterilization process. Sterilization process automatically performed according to formula input to microprocessor controller PLC.
Steam enters through steam diffusion pipes inside retort at start, air is discharged through exhaust port. When predetermined exhaust temperature and time are reached, heating stage begins. Throughout heating and sterilization stages, ensure saturated steam in retort, no residual air exists causing uneven heat distribution and incomplete sterilization.
Temperature uniformity in retort: +/-0.5°C.
Advantages: Uniform heat distribution (by exhausting air from retort, achieves saturated steam sterilization purpose), FDA/USDA compliant, simple and reliable (no other heating medium during heating and sterilization stages, only need to control steam well).
